Job Title: Network Security Engineer
Location: Austin, TX (Remote)
Duration: 4 Months+ (extension possible)
Job Summary:
- Enhance threat detection, monitoring, and incident response capabilities for the Texas Education Agency.
- Expand and fine-tune telemetry to improve security insights.
- Integrate high-value log sources into existing security systems.
- Enhance and develop security dashboards for better visibility.
- Support the rollout and implementation of additional CrowdStrike services.
- Improve endpoint and overall security risk visibility.
- Optimize signal quality and event correlation for better threat detection.
- Provide security leadership with actionable insights into security operations and risk posture.
- Document processes, create reports, and facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.
- Engage stakeholders and communicate effectively with executives.
- Perform SIEM detection engineering and optimize security alerts.
- Normalize data and ensure seamless log source integration.
- Utilize hands-on experience with CrowdStrike and SIEM dashboard development.
- (Preferred) Leverage experience with broader SIEM and dashboard development tools.
