Job Description

Payroll Specialist (Paycom Experience Preferred).

Pay Range: $35.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist with 2–3 years of payroll experience and a strong HR support background. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience using Paycom, a solid understanding of payroll compliance, and working knowledge of key HR functions including FMLA, state labor laws, workers’ compensation, benefits administration, and open enrollment. We are willing to train the right candidate who is motivated to learn, grow, and build a long‑term career with the company.

Key Responsibilities.

Payroll Administration:
  • Process bi‑weekly or weekly payroll using Paycom (preferred).
  • Review and validate timecards, PTO, overtime, and wage adjustments.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee data.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism.
  • Prepare payroll reports for Finance and HR leadership.


HR Support & Compliance:

  • Assist with FMLA tracking, documentation, and communication.
  • Maintain awareness of state labor laws and support compliance.
  • Coordinate workers’ compensation claims and reporting.
  • Support benefits administration, including enrollments and changes.
  • Assist with annual open enrollment activities.
  • Maintain employee files and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.


Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of payroll experience required (Paycom experience strongly preferred).
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, state labor laws, workers’ compensation, and benefits.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the company is highly valued.
