About the Training Program You’ll be enrolled in the
VetBloom Veterinary Assistant Program , a NAVTA-approved pathway to certification.
What to Expect: - 120 clinical hours of hands-on training in our hospital
- 175 hours of online learning (self-paced modules, videos, and exams)
- Flexible 6–12 month completion timeline
- 24/7 access to learning materials
- All program costs covered , including the $100 AVA exam fee
Upon completion, you’ll be eligible to sit for the
Approved Veterinary Assistant (AVA) certification exam —a major step toward a long-term career in veterinary medicine.
What You’ll Learn - Animal handling and restraint
- Basic nursing care and patient support
- Medical terminology and record keeping
- Lab basics, radiology safety, and pharmacology fundamentals
- Surgical and exam room preparation
- Emergency readiness and hospital operations

Schedule & Pay - Full-time training role
- Rotation of all departments and shifts in ER - day/swing and night shifts, including weekends
- $16.60/hour during training
